Position: SAT/ACT Tutor and Classroom Instructor

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching SAT and ACT courses at various locations
  • Tutoring students either in-home or at a neutral location
  • Maintaining professionalism in appearance and communication
  • Communicating and scheduling with parents of tutoring students
  • Effectively engaging high school students and providing mentorship beyond standardized test instruction
  • Collaborating with other staff members to discuss and further student progress
  • Providing an engaging and instructive test prep experience to classes of 4-12 students

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Excellent standardized testing scores (SAT and/or ACT)
  • Experience working with students
  • Desire to gain new skills and impact the lives of high school students

Additional Notes:

  • Classes and tutoring sessions are typically two hours
  • All instructors work from (and are encouraged to improve) a set curriculum
  • Access to a car is preferred

Position: Academic Tutor for Math and Science Topics

Responsibilities:

  • Tutoring for topics in which one has a high level of proficiency.
  • Currently seeking tutors who can assist with any combination of the following subjects: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
  • Assisting students in coursework for various math and science courses
  • Potentially helping students in preparation for AP exams and SAT Subject Tests
  • Tutoring students either in-home or at a neutral location
  • Maintaining professionalism in appearance and communication
  • Communicating and scheduling with parents of tutoring students
  • Effectively engaging high school students
  • Collaborating with other staff members to discuss and further student progress

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Thorough conceptual knowledge of topics to be tutored
  • Experience working with students
  • Desire to gain new skills and impact the lives of high school students

Additional Notes:

  • Class and tutoring sessions are typically between one and two hours
  • Access to a car is preferred

Position: Test Proctor

Responsibilities:

  • Administering SAT and ACT exams on weekends
  • Maintaining a positive and supportive testing environment
  • Assisting in scoring exams and recording scores

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Effective ability to communicate instructions and monitor test environment

Additional Notes:

  • Practice tests take 3.5-4 hours to administer on Saturdays or Sundays
  • Proctors are able to quietly work on personal projects as students test
  • Access to a car is preferred but not essential
